Using two beverage coolers gave the homeowner additional storage capacity and made it easier to organize drinks for larger gatherings. The glass doors also allowed guests to see the available beverages without repeatedly opening the units.

Spotix supplied the HPC Fire Penta Electronic Ignition Gas Fire Pit Kit with Round Flat Pan and Torpedo Burner for the custom enclosure.

Electronic ignition provided a convenient way for the homeowner to operate the fire feature while supporting the polished experience expected from a luxury outdoor installation. As with any custom gas fire feature, the burner system, enclosure dimensions, ventilation, fuel supply, drainage, clearances, and control method should be planned together.

Because the completed fire bowl was extremely large and heavy, the team used a crane to lift and position it within the finished backyard. This required careful jobsite coordination to protect the surrounding hardscape and place the enclosure accurately.

The installation demonstrates why contractors should consider transportation and final placement during the design stage. Large concrete and masonry fire features may require specialized equipment, clear crane access, reinforced support, and close coordination between the installation crew and other trades.

Extending the Outdoor Season With Infrared Heating
