Spotix Earns Its First Inc. Regional Recognition

Inc. magazine included Spotix in its third annual Inc. 5000 Regionals Midwest list, which recognized fast-growing private companies based throughout Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Born from the national Inc. 5000 program, the regional list highlighted independent businesses contributing to growth, innovation, and employment throughout the Midwest.

Spotix’s No. 107 ranking followed 97% revenue growth over the two-year period used for the 2022 list.

“We’re thrilled to be included in this group of economic all-stars of the Midwest. Our outstanding team members have worked diligently to position Spotix and our family of brands as a source for premium hearth, fire feature, and outdoor cooking products. We provide deep technical knowledge and back it up with exceptional customer service.”

Aaron Verhorevoort, President of Spotix

A Milestone Driven by the Spotix Team

The recognition reflected the collective work of Spotix employees across product management, sales, customer service, logistics, marketing, technology, operations, and leadership.

During a period of rapid growth in e-commerce and outdoor living, the Spotix team continued expanding its product selection while helping customers navigate technically complex purchases. Fireplaces, fire pits, grills, outdoor kitchens, burners, ignition systems, and related components often require more guidance than a typical online purchase.

Spotix’s growth was supported by a commitment to helping customers understand product compatibility, installation requirements, fuel and voltage options, sizing considerations, replacement parts, and long-term ownership needs.

The milestone also reflected strong relationships with manufacturers throughout the hearth and outdoor-living industries. These partnerships helped Spotix offer a broad selection of products while providing the documentation, product information, and technical support customers needed to make informed decisions.

Serving the Hearth and Outdoor-Living Industry

Spotix and its family of brands provide products for indoor hearth projects, outdoor fire features, grilling, and complete outdoor-living spaces.

The company’s portfolio includes:

  • Spotix, offering hearth, patio, fire feature, outdoor cooking, and outdoor-living products for residential and professional projects
  • Fireplaces Direct, focused on fireplaces, inserts, stoves, mantels, and hearth products
  • Fire Pits Direct, focused on fire pits, fire tables, burners, ignition systems, and fire feature components
  • KickAss Grills, focused on grills, outdoor kitchens, refrigeration, storage, and outdoor cooking equipment

Together, these brands help customers plan gathering spaces ranging from a single fireplace or grill upgrade to a complete patio, fire feature, or outdoor kitchen project.

Supporting Homeowners and Trade Professionals

Spotix serves both homeowners and trade professionals, with support tailored to the needs of each project.

Homeowners may need help comparing products, understanding fuel options, planning a replacement, or finding compatible components. Contractors, builders, designers, installers, chimney professionals, and commercial buyers often need additional assistance with specifications, larger orders, product compatibility, technical documentation, and project coordination.

Through SpotixPro, qualified trade professionals can access benefits designed to support residential and commercial project work, including trade pricing, account tools, product guidance, and order support.

This ability to serve customers across different experience levels and project types has remained an important part of the Spotix approach.

“We are passionate about sharing our extensive product knowledge to help customers create better indoor and outdoor gathering spaces. Whether someone is adding a quality grill or a contractor is coordinating a fireplace, fire pit, or outdoor kitchen project, our goal is to provide the products and guidance needed to move the project forward.”

Aaron Verhorevoort, President of Spotix

The Spotix Mission

The mission of Spotix is to elevate gathering spaces with insightful guidance, exceptional products, and authentic service for those who celebrate life’s moments.

That mission extends beyond selling products. It includes helping customers and professionals understand how products fit together, what a successful installation requires, and which options are best suited to the intended space and use.

The company’s 2022 Inc. recognition represented a point in Spotix’s growth when that approach was reaching more customers, supporting more projects, and creating new opportunities for the company and its employees.
