"The cast stainless grates take a while to get to an even temperature, so give them some time. I've also found that the sear burner works best with the wind deflector on and the grate on the lowest position. Searing first for 1-2 minutes then grilling at 350F-400F makes for juicy, tasty meats."
"I purchased this unit after 2 months of researching and reading many pages of specs and reviews, from a local dealer in Wa. The pro: Solid unit, functions as advertised, easy to assemble . Excellent heat control and features. I love the cast SS grates ( i would say the main reason i purchase this grill,+ fact is black!) Cans: Quality control suffers! One of the cables for LCD came with 1 wire disconnected from terminal. The store replaced it with the cable from another unit. ( Really appreciated) . Filling a warranty claim ( to return it to the store. . . back ordered until August!!!!!) Really ??"
"The lid, which I cannot adjust, which I did not put together won’t sit level. The wait time to visit with a human being as well over an hour. On another occasion, had a chance to just give them my phone number and they would call me back, but this was not an option this time when I called. For that reason, I’m going to upload this video in hopes that it will get someone’s attention and I’ll get a call back."
"Sear burner starter wire broken off , but I fixed it and rear panel in back of inferred burner exterior was bent in , but I also fixed that . Stainless Steel grates are very nice but hard to keep clean . Front lower doors hard to aline even after leveling BBQ with wheels ."
"Unit looks good and quality seems good. Unit is not as hot as previous bbqs. Rear infrared in my previous Napoleon was amazing. Did a rotisserie chicken last week and couldn't get enough heat to crisp the skin. Even simple hot dogs and burgers take longer."
"I’ve been seriously impressed with the Napoleon Prestige Phantom 500. The build quality feels incredibly solid, it heats up fast, and the heat distribution is very even. The infrared sear burner is one of the standout features — steaks come out with an amazing crust and restaurant-quality results. I also really like the cast stainless grates because they hold heat well and seem much more durable than traditional cast iron. _x000D_ The matte black Phantom finish looks amazing and gives the grill a premium feel, especially with the lighting and overall design. It definitely feels like a high-end grill without getting into the ultra-luxury price range."

"Aesthetically - Looks excellent! I am optimistic its going to be awesome. Fingers crossed. Purchased through BBQ Guys via online order. Arrived timely, packaged perfectly. Zero scratches or dents. (They couldn't help with my issue with the LCD Display. ) Assembly - the paper copy is trash. It shows a letter associated with certain pieces to assembly but there were no letters on any of the boxes. Pictures of the screws were not accurate. For that reason it was a huge guessing game. ***The Cheat Code. . . . . The app. (which I didn't download until I went to register the grill. I spent way too much time assembling my own. Tho the app seems excellent with short easy to understand video's. Wish I knew it was a thing 1st!*** Lighting the grill - It is tricky to lite. I hope it gets easier as I get more acclimated to it. However, if it at some point it won't lite. It will be virtually impossible to lite as the burners are deep relative to the grates. Cooking - The it does take some time for the grill to reach a temp of substance. It really didn't get the temp up to really sear items on the grill as I had hoped. IT did ok but not great. I think the grates are too far from the actual heat. Have yet to use the sear station. Wi-Fi & Bluetooth® Connectivity, LCD Display - The digital reader with the thermometers won't work. The screen will not show anything. I have called been on hold for 11 plus minutes then had to hang up. Cuz ya know I got stuff to do! Sent email that was no longer being used? Called back, on hold again. After 8 minutes (I don't know why so long, perhaps to see that you really have a question you are committed to having answered) got a message stating they would call back if I leave my number. I will follow up with how that goes."
"Love the new Phantom in every way except one. The heat range across the entire grill grate is not even. The front 4-5"" has a noticeably lower temp when cooking on high. The middle of the grill is the sweet spot but I expected a more even heat distribution for a grill at this cost level."
"But the horrible assembly manual required many contacts with support. Still cannot get to the connection for the light controls without taking the entire base apart. I hope that once these assembly issues are resolved that it will be a great grill. Until these issues are resolved I will reserve judgement. You really need to think about redoing the manual so it's accurate and actually shows what is in the box. And how about some assembly videos?"
